SERENDIPITY

Serendipity…. It is a very interesting word, I first came across this word when I saw the movie of the same name, it was an interesting one where the protagonists of the movie meet by chance and they separate and they meet again … but as this word means, does it really happen by chance ?? well if you think about it, yes things do happen by chance, surprising and unexpected good things. But everything needs an ignition even for it to happen by chance, say for example in this movie of course the way the protagonists meet is by chance, but what keeps them going, what makes them to meet again is not chance, it’s because of their efforts they find each other, the second meet could have never happened if either one of them had given up. That was basically a love story, where they fall in love at first sight and they lose each other and then they find each other again.

But this applies to every situation in life, let it be your job or your marriage or pursuing your passion. Serendipity may or may not happen, but it could never happen without efforts from your side. Things don’t happen by chance, if you are not even ready to take a chance. That’s how life is, you might find a way to the happiest place on earth; that’s luck, but what if you are not even ready to step out of your home ?? I can give you an example, you can meet your potential spouse at the Railway station, because your trains were delayed that day and you both may not even be headed to the same destination but still that delay was your chance, do such things happen often? I would say quite often.. well I am not being unrealistic here, if you stop for a moment and think, you will agree with me. Such chances happen in everyday life, its up to you whether to look into it or just ignore, it is a choice. Say your train was delayed that day, instead of noticing the people around you, you might be too much into that video game in your smartphone, who knows while you were busy crushing levels in that game of yours, your potential life partner could be sitting right next to you, Serendipity has presented itself but you haven’t noticed!! And this can happen in your everyday life.

But you can argue with me that if such a thing happens it is bound to gain my attention and it is not possible to be overlooked, yes may be that’s right too, but let’s be practical here, do you want to wait for such a massive obvious thing to strike? it may not happen at all. Why spend your entire life looking for the obvious sign, when the sign is disguised in the small things you come across everyday, you just have to open your eyes. Doesn’t it make things a lot more simple?? There is a saying “What you seek is seeking you” I couldn’t agree with this more, all your life you will be running, searching for the answers while the whole time you had the answer within you or written all over you or right beside you, you just didn’t see it, no point regretting later on when you realize it.

Life is simple, Serendipity can happen, we all wish for it. But why look for magic in your life when your life itself is a magic, you were the product of a fertilization of a single sperm which competed with millions of other sperms to reach that one particular ovum, if the next sperm should have won you wouldn’t exist today!! Isn’t that magical ..?? So I conclude this piece saying if you find Serendipity, its great!! but don’t wait expecting it to happen. Keep going.. enjoy the small things around you, every morning the fresh air you breathe in when you wake up, when the sun rays brush your face while you run for work, the joyful sound of the raindrops when they hit the ground... cherish those moments, open your eyes to look at the things around you, meet new people, spend quality time with people whom you already know. Serendipity will find it's way to you. But that’s not the best part, the best part in living life the above mentioned way is, you wouldn’t worry a bit, even if it doesn’t happen, because you have realized the beauty of life and how awesome it is, even without luck or chance or Serendipity, however you want to put it.
